Coronavirus - Recommendations for Hosting Units
Preventive Measures
Coronaviruses are a family of viruses that can cause disease in humans. The infection can be similar to the common flu or present as a more serious illness, such as pneumonia. It is known that person-to-person transmission exists.
What are the symptoms?
They are usually fever, cough and shortness of breath, and complications
such as pneumonia and bronchitis can occur in elderly patients or in chronic
patients, since the virus reduces their immune system.
All patients identified to date have been in Wuhan, in Hubei province,
China or have had direct contact with sick people from that area.
The virus incubation time can last between 2 to 14 days.
Preventive Measures for Accommodation Units
Accommodation units that receive guests from Asia and especially from
Wuhan, Hubei province, China, for less than 14 days should be aware and if they
detect any of the symptoms mentioned:
- Call the contact center SNS24 (808 24 24 24), before resorting to health
services, and always refer to your travel history, and / or contact with
animals and / or sick people, following the instructions given to them given;
- Make social restriction;
- Wash your hands frequently with soap and water;
- Adopt respiratory etiquette measures - cover your nose and mouth when
sneezing or coughing (with tissue paper or with your arm, never with your
hands);
- Throw the tissue in the trash;
- Wash your hands right away;
- Wear a surgical mask;
In the accommodation unit, communication to guests during check-in is
recommended, and this information can be posted or delivered by hand in the
pamphlet.
